Archeologists have uncovered many facts on iron industry in ancient Sri Lanka & it is amazing how our forefathers have used technology, which modern scientists thought were new. The techniques were very advanced for the time. Even the use of natural drought furnaces have perplexed the modern archeologists as well as scientists. It is also considered that the iron ore extraction methods were way ahead of their time. The author of this book, Mr. Gamini Dodamwala presents many important facts of Sri Lanka’s iron industry. Though there have been many books written on the subject in English, there are only few books in Sinhala. This book is an attempt to fulfill the gap.
