The author after graduation from the Universities of Ceylon and Cambridge embarked on a thirty- years career as a senior government administrator and later a UN Consultant. He lived and worked in every province of Sri Lanka and his tales of life in the " Outstations " are a felicitous mix of nostalgic satisfaction.
